Steven Brophy

Steven Brophy is a Senior Manager of Logistics Engineering at Moderna. He leads the company’s cold chain management and supply chain innovation efforts, with a focus on building resilient, efficient, and digitally enabled logistics capabilities across Moderna’s global network.
Steven recently led the development of a global policy for the lifecycle management of temperature-controlled material storage and distribution. This work has advanced Moderna’s shipping validation strategy to ensure scalable, compliant, and patient-centric distribution practices.
He is currently focused on implementing a Logistics Control Tower to enhance real-time visibility and operational responsiveness. Steven also leads the company’s cross-functional Cold Chain Leadership Council to drive strategic alignment across the business.
Steven began supporting Moderna as a consultant in early 2022, gaining deep familiarity with the company’s operations before transitioning in-house.
Prior to joining Moderna full-time in November 2024, Steven spent nearly a decade in management consulting, where he led strategy, operations, and supply chain transformation initiatives for clients across more than ten industries—including life sciences, chemicals, and industrial manufacturing.
His consulting background, combined with hands-on experience in pharmaceutical logistics and a strong academic foundation, brings a unique perspective to complex, cross-functional challenges. He holds a Juris Doctor from New England Law | Boston and a Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering Technology from the University of Dayton.

Craig was born and spent his childhood in San Diego. He remained nearby for undergrad (Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering 2009) and graduate school (Master’s in Mechanical Engineering 2010) at the University of California, San Diego.
He spent the first 6 years of his professional career with Baxter BioScience, serving in a variety of roles with increasing scope and responsibility in engineering, manufacturing supervision, and packaging across Baxter’s sites in Los Angeles, Thousand Oaks, Hayward, and Westlake Village, California. In late 2016, he joined Kite as the first member of the Packaging Engineering team and built the function up to now include eight engineers. He then took on further responsibilities in addition to packaging, expanding his purview to include functions such as warehousing, logistics, trade compliance and most recently, labeling.
In his free time, Craig enjoys traveling and trying new food with his wife Lindsay, and daughter Avery.
Luis Hernandez

Luis Hernandez is the Director of Logistics at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, where he oversees global cold chain logistics to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of temperature-sensitive therapies. With over two decades of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device industries, Luis has held pivotal roles at companies such as Baxter, Shire, Amgen, and CargoSense.
A chemical engineering graduate from UCLA and a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Luis brings a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing, quality systems, and R&D program management. His expertise encompasses the development of cold chain packaging solutions, implementation of temperature monitoring systems, and the establishment of compliant distribution networks. Luis has successfully led teams in setting up manufacturing pilot plants, managing design transfers, and ensuring regulatory compliance across global operations.
In his current role at Vertex, Luis continues to drive innovation in logistics, contributing to the company's mission of delivering transformative medicines to patients worldwide.
K. Nicole Harter

Nicole Harter is a distinguished quality assurance professional of 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry, specializing in global logistics, quality risk management and quality systems development that align with Lilly’s corporate mission and values.
At Lilly, Harter has made significant contributions by creating global standards and Critical Quality Parameters for distribution compliance. She led the modernization of container qualification and shipping risk assessment processes, enhancing quality while reducing costs. Notably, Harter developed Lilly's global product withdrawal process, successfully implemented for Xigris, earning recognition from top executives.
In her role overseeing North American Logistics Operations, Harter redesigned the quality system and QA team, aligning them with business needs and regulatory requirements. She also led the Global Logistics Quality Leadership Team and Lilly Distribution QA Forum.
Harter's leadership in creating agile quality systems and her emphasis building and managing cross-functional have consistently resulted in zero-observation external inspections. Known for her collaboration, communication, mentoring, and diversity skills by her peers and leaders, Harter is also a dedicated mentor and facilitator of career growth for team members. She is a passionate advocate for special needs children, a volunteer at a food pantry, a half-marathon runner and a master gardener.
Chandan Trehan

Steve Jacobs is president of Global Biopharm Solutions, LLC, and a successful consultant, trainer, business leader, executive coach, mentor and speaker. For the past 29 years he’s been heavily involved in clinical supply chain operations, IMPs, cGMPs, cGCPs, cGDPs, clinical development and quality (ICH Q8, Q9 & Q10) for pharmaceuticals, and biotech products.
He sits on the Board of Directors of the largest professional clinical supply organization in the world, the Global Clinical Supplies Group. His expertise also includes success in leadership, innovation, global cultural dynamics, organizational development, and high performing teams.
In the past he has been a CEO and COO, as well as the president and Global Chief Operating Officer, of a multinational clinical supply chain contract organization that served companies like Novartis, Eisai, Lilly and others in the pharmaceutical and biotech sector. Before that he was head of US clinical supply operations for Johnson & Johnson.
Steve was also a logistics and aviation officer, in the U.S. Army, where he rose to the rank of Major and was a maintenance test pilot, and pilot in command, for both helicopters and fixed wing aircraft.
His undergraduate degree is in Pharmacy from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and his MBA is from the University of Phoenix with a specialization in global management.
Steve has traveled all over the world (4 Continents, 25 Countries, 42 States) and enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and good friends, whenever he gets the chance.
Ross Blum

Over the last two decades, Ross Blum has made a name for himself in the pharmaceutical cold chain logistics space, working as a sales leader for companies focused on solutions in cold chain monitoring, and temperature-controlled packaging.
Ross currently serves as the North American Cold Chain Business Unit Manager with the Swiss-based manufacturer ELPRO, where he works with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and third-party logistics companies to support the proper storage, handling and distribution of life-enhancing and life-saving medications.
Ross previously worked in monitoring and thermal protection at Sensitech, Lifoam and CSafe Global. His past projects have been featured on ABC News, Good Morning America, Dateline, and The Today Show.
Jeff Chida
Jeff received a bachelor's degree in Packaging from Michigan State University (Go Green!). He joined Lilly in 1999 and has held positions in Packaging Development and Global Packaging & Robotics.
He is the global packaging platform steward for the distribution and bulk packaging disciplines – providing global technical oversight for drug product temperature-controlled shipping, shipping container qualifications, distribution logistics, and aligning global specifications among bulk packaging sites.
Jeff also provides technical expertise for new product submissions, regulatory audit support, and parenteral laboratory/field shipping studies enabling global launches.
He has been a key contributor to external industry benchmarking forums developing best practice guidelines, mentoring area engineers, and creating internal cost savings from operational improvements.
Jeff Lander

Jeff has over a decade of experience in cold chain distribution within the pharmaceutical industry and is currently the Director of Global Logistics Engineering at Moderna.
During his time at Moderna, Jeff has been instrumental in supporting the commercial distribution of over a billion doses of the Moderna Spikevax COVID-19 vaccine worldwide. Some areas of specialization for him include the creation of a global shipping validation framework, cold chain stability design for finished products, temperature monitoring / shipment visibility and serving as an SME during regulatory inspections and audits for cold chain distribution topics.
Prior to Moderna, Jeff was a senior consultant at Lean Biologix and Cold Chain Manager at Accutech Packaging, where he was responsible for the life cycle management and implementation of cold chain packaging across global CMO/3PL sites.
Patrik Senn

Patrik Senn is currently serving as the Head of Product Management at ELPRO, a position he has held since September 2023. Patrik is responsible to drive product strategy and innovation. Prior to his current role, he spent almost two years as a Product Manager, focusing on various aspects of product development and market analysis.
During his tenure is Product Manager, Patrik played a crucial role in bridging the gap between global sales and development teams. His responsibilities included analyzing sales data, profit margins, and market share trends to inform strategic decisions. Patrik also coordinated product launches and discontinuations, implemented sales promotion initiatives, and developed brand-specific approval documents. His expertise in these areas has contributed significantly to ELPRO’s global product success and market positioning. Patrik is based in Switzerland.
Henry Ames

Henry Ames serves as the General Manager of Logistics Orchestration for TraceLink. Prior to TraceLink, Ames spent 18 years leading Sensitech’s life sciences vertical – most recently as the General Manager. Prior to Sensitech, he was a principal at Megunticook Management, a venture capital firm in Boston with $150 million under management and investments in promising communications, media, and technology companies.
Ames earned an MBA from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College, and a double major in Business Management and Entrepreneurship from Florida State University. He is a current member of the Parenteral Drug Association (PDA) and co-chairs the Supply Chain Management Interest Group (SCMIG).
Ames also currently serves as the President and a Director of the Easton Community Corporation (ECC) – a 501C (2) entity supporting thirteen non-profits in the town of North Easton, MA.
Greg Pritchard
Supply Chain leader for 25+ years predominately in the areas of warehousing, transportation, distribution strategy and operations. Working across the Petroleum and Healthcare sectors in strategic and operational leadership roles.
Currently Head of Global Logistics for AbbVie based in Chicago, focused on key areas of international transportation, managing strategic supplier partnerships, driving advancement in networks, resiliency and technology (packaging, devices, visibility, transportation systems).
Responsible for leading AbbVie Sustainability across supply chain developing a clear strategy incorporating reporting, reduction targets and initiatives, engagement and investment.
Paul DellaVilla

Josh Medow
Josh Medow is CEO of Mercury, a healthcare and life-sciences logistics company specializing in time- and temperature-sensitive shipping. A West Point graduate, former Army infantry officer, and Harvard MBA, he acquired Mercury through an exhaustive search-fund process in 2020 and now leads its global expansion.
Josh’s mission is to remove complexity and regulatory hurdles from cold-chain shipping so biopharma, diagnostics, and medical device companies can focus on what matters. Under his leadership, Mercury has modernized its technology infrastructure—rebuilding its customer-facing platform to allow users to book any type of shipment, anywhere in the world, with real-time tracking powered by software integrations and Mercury’s 24/7 dedicated teams.
Ryan Oppel
Ryan Oppel is a global commercial leader with over 15 years of experience in the life sciences, pharmaceutical, and medical device industries. As Chief Commercial Officer at LifeScience Logistics, he drives commercial strategy, sales growth, and market expansion, leveraging his expertise in cold chain logistics, and specialty distribution.
With a strong background in business development, strategic planning, and M&A integrations, Ryan has led high-performing teams working with the leading biopharma companies on global distribution rollouts, including pandemic responses . He is at the forefront of digital transformation, implementing artificial intelligence tools and digital visualization to enhance the customer experience, commercial operations and market forecasting.
Ryan has completed the Harvard Business Analytics Program, holds a Master of Business Administration from Babson College, and has received Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology.
Michael Sweeney

With over 30 years of leadership in global life sciences logistics, Mike has delivered customer-centric and innovative supply chain solutions. A recognized expert in personalized logistics, he has driven impactful results across multiple functional areas.
Mike began his career at World Courier in 1992, where he led the development and management of direct-to-patient services in 50+ countries and helped establish global processes for cell and gene therapy logistics. His expertise spans operations, compliance, IT, marketing, service development, and consulting from clinical trials through commercialization.
Since March 2023, Mike has served as Global Head of Strategy (CGT & DTP) at QuickSTAT, where he champions improved patient access, diversity, and outcomes. Based in Philadelphia, he also serves on the Executive Committee and DTP team of the Global Clinical Supplies Group and leads its Cell and Gene Therapy team.
Brian Wallin

Brian Wallin is responsible for the development and execution of CCT’s
Customer Optimization and Implementation Services and Commercial Management
focused on the Cell and Gene Therapy Industry.
Brian has over 22 years of packaging industry experience focused on cold chain
packaging, distribution, and logistics within food (FreshRealm) and Pharmaceutical (Amgen, Modality Solutions, and Kite Pharma) Most recently, Brian worked at Kite Pharma a Gilead Company, as the Associate Director of Packaging Engineering leading Kite's Global Packaging Engineering team.
Brian received his Bachelor of Science in Packaging Engineering from the University of Wisconsin Stout. Brian has been a member of both the International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) Pharma Committee, and a member of the Parental Drug Association (PDA) Pharmaceutical Cold Chain Interest Group (PCCIG) where he has co-authored ISTA standards, and guidance documents, along with PDA Technical Report 39 and several other Cold Chain related publications.
Geoffrey Glauser

Most recently, Geoffrey Glauser worked as an SME at the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) where he worked on the design and implementation of vaccine and pharmaceutical supply chain management solutions involving research and development programs, and product throughput by working on contracts for the manufacture and delivery of vaccines, antivirals, therapeutics, diagnostics and medical countermeasures for the U.S. Government, requiring expertise in supply chain, logistics, packaging, sterile operations, regulatory, quality systems, technical bulk manufacturing, filling, warehousing, packaging operations, and product cold chain. Prior to that he had worked for 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry at Merck, Pfizer and in clinical services. Highlights include working with government agencies, vaccine introductions, a clinical trial for the Ebola vaccine, and COVID-19 vaccine response (Operation Warp Speed).
Bryan Cardis

Bryan Cardis is responsible for the development and execution of CCT’s Customer Optimization and Implementation Services and Commercial Management.
Bryan has over 24 years of packaging industry experience in Food (Nestle, USA) and Pharmaceutical (Pharmacia/Pfizer & Eli Lilly & Company) focusing on secondary/tertiary packaging, distribution, logistics, and cold chain/temperature-controlled packaging design experience. Most recently, Bryan worked at Eli Lilly and Company as the Sr. Advisor for the Temperature-Controlled Center of Excellence (COE) and Global Packaging subject matter expert.
Bryan received his Bachelor of Science degree in Packaging from Michigan State University (Go Green). Additionally, he is a founding member, vice-chair, and co-author of various ISTA Pharma Committee industry technical documents.
