London September 2017

September 2017 | London UK

Post Event Report

Thank you for inviting me along, great to learn about impacts of temperature mapping throughout the supply chain. Rich Ellis (Virgin Atlantic Cargo)

Key themes and highlights from the event include:

    • Rationale to GxP mapping - Presented by one of the ELPRO’s Technical support engineers and covering the complexity of GxP
    • IATA CEIV qualification - Presented by Sean Merrill, ELPRO’s leading validation engineer. Shaun focused on IATA CEIV for ground handlers and airlines
    • Case Studies - Presented by Rich Ellis from Virgin Atlantic Cargo. Rich shared the complexities of temperature mapping an aircraft. This was well received by the delegates, as was a second case study focusing on vehicle mapping

First Leading Minds Seminar held in Europe co-hosted by ASC

There is a growing thirst for knowledge within the Pharmaceutical Logistics industry, particularly in relation to increasingly complex regulations across the sector. Companies are becoming more aware of the need for compliance throughout the entire supply chain, however many remain overwhelmed by the diversity of challenges faced and the advances in technology developed specifically for such challenges.

As leaders in the field of temperature mapping, ELPRO UK understands the importance of accurate temperature controls within the Cold Chain, to avoid damage to temperature sensitive medicinal products. Our technology equips companies with the ability to monitor and report temperature changes easily and effectively, and assists in meeting the strict requirements set out in the EU GDP guidelines.

We decided that the best way to share our knowledge with the industry would be through an interactive event, where we could showcase the technology in simulated scenarios and answer any queries that arose throughout the event. So, on 19th September 2017, we held our first Leading Minds Seminar at Hilton London Heathrow Airport, entitled "GxP-compliant Temperature Management". Read below the full agenda from the day.

The past event in London was co-hosted by ASC Associates, experts in Good Distribution Practice (GDP), to provide a comprehensive understanding of the requirements set out for the Pharmaceutical Logistics industry. This helped to firmly place the role of temperature mapping and monitoring within the larger framework of GDP compliance, ensuring delegates understood how it would affect their own work within the supply chain.

The event, which was provided completely free of charge, was attended by delegates from across the industry, including 3PLs, Freight forwarding, and Airlines. Together with our technical experts, we were able to meet our objectives by learning theoretical concepts, reviewing existing challenges, and then looking at solutions. We also used interactive workshops, such as physically mapping the seminar room and Temperature Control Packaging, to give participants practical experience.

Read below more overwhelmingly positive feedback from the delegates who attended:

Temperature mapping on the aircraft was interesting and gave a viewpoint to how the industry has changed. Good to network and see how other companies are approaching temperature mapping. Chas Sangha (Gefco)

The interactive sessions were good. The variety of presentations was good. Nick Geary (Sky Cell)

A great opportunity to network & exchange knowledge & working practice. Eran Powell (Caligor)

A very informative seminar – Thank you. Deborah Burkmar (Pharma Freight)
